Mark your calendars! The annual Snow Hill River Festival is returning this July 18, and the Lower Shore Land Trust team is ready to hit the water once again.

Over the past two years, Team LSLT has built a strong reputation on the Pocomoke River, earning a fourth-place finish in the inaugural Raft Race and paddling our way to second place last year. With each race, we've gotten a little closer to the top spot and this year, we're hoping to finish the climb.

To participate in the River Raft Race, teams must design and build their own homemade rafts and put their creations to the test on race day. Part engineering challenge, part river adventure, and part community celebration, the event brings together creativity, teamwork, and plenty of friendly competition.

This year, we're back with our sights set on another strong finish. The team has been brainstorming, building, and preparing for what promises to be another exciting day on the Pocomoke. While we can't reveal too much about this year's raft just yet, one thing is certain: LSLT is in it to win it!

The Snow Hill River Raft Race is more than just a competition, it's a celebration of our connection to the rivers, wetlands, and waterways that make the Lower Shore such a special place. Events like this remind us why protecting these natural resources matters and give us a chance to enjoy them alongside our community.

If you're attending the race, be sure to keep an eye out for Team LSLT and cheer us on from the riverbank. We look forward to seeing familiar faces, meeting new friends, and spending a fun summer day on the beautiful Pocomoke River.

We'll see you at the starting line!
