There is something powerful about stepping into a space that is alive with motion. Bees move from bloom to bloom, butterflies drift through the air, and native plants thrive in a landscape designed to support them. On Saturday, June 6, the Lower Shore Land Trust invites you to experience that firsthand at our annual Pollinator Garden Tour. This year’s tour is focused in Wicomico County and marks the kickoff of the new collaborative Shore Blooms initiative, which aims to build a network of home habitats supporting wildlife across the region.
This year’s tour features a diverse collection of gardens across Wicomico County, each offering a unique perspective on how we can rethink the spaces around our homes and communities. While walking through these usually private spaces encounter live Plein Air Artists painting and stumble upon our children’s pollinator activity! We are excited to welcome back several familiar and much loved stops, including beloved environmentalist Tom Horton’s urban garden and Salisbury’s Community Garden Guru, Martin Hutchinson’s homestead. These landscapes show how thoughtful stewardship over time can transform even small spaces into vibrant habitat.

We are also introducing new gardens that expand what is possible, from HOA led projects to larger meadow style installations. As we launch Shore Blooms, these stops offer a real world look at how homeowners and communities can move beyond traditional lawns and create spaces that support pollinators, improve soil health, and bring new life to the landscape.

We are especially excited to partner this year with Salisbury University, which will host our welcome tent and offer free guided tours of the campus arboretum and gardens throughout the day. To kick things off, join us for a limited capacity opening reception on the evening of Friday, June 5, hosted & generously sponsored by the Fulton School in the Fulton Hall art galleries.
The opening reception is free to attend, but space is limited, so RSVP here to reserve your spot. are on sale now and capacity is limited. RSVP to Pre-Tour Reception HERE.
