My name is Josh Curtis, and I am a recent graduate of Salisbury University. I majored in Information Systems. I love the outdoors, reading, and Washington Commanders football. I have been working with LSLT for about 2 months now.

When I first joined the Lower Shore Land Trust (LSLT), I saw an opportunity to use my background in information systems to make a difference. LSLT’s mission “Protecting and restoring the natural resources of Maryland’s Lower Eastern Shore” is a cause that I believe in. Like many organizations, our ability to act quickly and effectively depends on how we manage our information.

That’s where my passion for databases comes in. Over the past few months, I’ve been building and refining an integrated database system to streamline our operations. From tracking grants, and payroll to bringing the user interface (UI) to life, I’ve been working to create a central hub of information that’s accurate, accessible, and easy to update.

I’m using Airtable as our primary platform, customizing it to fit the unique needs of our team. This includes linking related data, creating automated scripts that save hours of manual work, and designing user-friendly interfaces so that staff can navigate with ease.

To me, this is more than just a technical upgrade, it’s a way to ensure that LSLT can focus more of its energy on conservation work and less on administrative bottlenecks. I’m proud to know that my work with databases is helping the organization protect more land, engage more people, and make a lasting impact on our community.
