Attention Outdoor Enthusiasts:
Help Conserve the Places You Love!
The Lower Shore Land Trust (LSLT) is calling on nature
enthusiasts and community-minded individuals to step
forward and help conserve the iconic landscapes of the
Lower Eastern Shore. On February 21st, from 1:00 PM
to 4:00 PM, LSLT will host a Stewardship Training session
at the Snow Hill Library (307 N. Washington St.), offering
a unique opportunity for volunteers to make a lasting
impact on the region’s natural environment.
The stewardship program is critical to our operations.
By program and accreditation requirements, LSLT is
required to visit each of our 140+ easements and in-fee
properties each year, at over 24,000 acres. The first
indoor training on February 21st training session will
provide participant with an in-depth understanding of LSLT’s protected easement properties and the measures taken to conserve them for future generations. Volunteers will also learn how they can assist LSLT during site visits to some of Delmarva’s most stunning, and often private, landscapes. The Feb 21st date will be followed by an on-ground training in March.
This opportunity is not for everybody. You will be required to traverse uneven terrain, hike at least a mile, and have to love being outdoors no matter what the weather is. This program doesn't seem to be for you? LSLT has multiple volunteer opportunities throughout the year!
